Ric Flair has claimed that Bradley Cooper is the running to play him in a movie about his life.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair enjoyed one of the most remarkable in-ring careers of anyone in professional wrestling history.
His legendary career took him all over the world and to World Championships in some of the biggest promotions in history. Impressively there were 16 (at least) World Title wins in total.
Outside of the ring Flair became known for “living the gimmick” and partied like the good times would never end. This was not always a positive for the star who has found himself mired in controversy more than once. However, this wild and varied life looks set to make prime material for an upcoming movie.
Speaking on his To Be The Man podcast, Flair revealed that there is a movie in the works about his life, and those in charge have spoken to Bradley Cooper over the role of playing the Nature Boy himself.
“Well, there’s talks right now that I can’t mention. They are making a movie about my life and I know that they’ve talked to Bradley Cooper. I could see him doing that. I could see him. That’s the only name that’s come up I don’t.. That’s only rumored. I mean, I’ve heard it officially, but it’s not in place. So ladies and gentlemen, it’s not true that he’s playing Ric Flair. I’ve heard they’ve talked to him, that’s it. Bradley Cooper is not playing me in a movie, yet. I hope he does.”
Bradley Cooper is best known for his roles in A Star Is Born, the Hangover trilogy, as well as the Guardian’s of the Galaxy franchise.
Flair recently brought down the curtain on his lengthy in-ring career at a special event over SummerSlam weekend promoted under the Jim Crockett Promotions banner. On the big night, Flair teamed with his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
