WWE Hall of Famer Booker T to wrestle one final match? A current World Champion feels that it is a box office showdown just waiting to happen.

TNA World Champion Trick Williams, at 31, has already made a commendable impact in the pro wrestling world. While he is a prominent name in NXT, it is his meteoric rise to the main event scene in TNA that arguably put him on the map, now that the Nashville-based wrestling promotion has a multi-year working partnership with WWE.

On NXT, Williams is close to Booker T. This is a known fact, as both of them have been very vocal about their friendship off-screen. The rising stalwart has often cited the Hall of Famer as a mentor and has reiterated time and time that he wants a match against his mentor.

On Going Ringside, Trick Williams was asked to articulate his relationship with Booker T. In one word, the 31-year-old called it “magical,” further elaborating that Booker had always guided him at every step. He emphasized the Hall of Famer’s input off-screen.

Further into the interview, when asked about a dream match, Williams named two wrestlers, and one of them was the Hall of Famer. Booker’s last in-ring performance for World Wrestling Entertainment was at the Royal Rumble 2023, where Gunther made quick work of him.

He has since stated that he can’t hang with the best of the best of this decade, although he did step back inside the squared circle to take on an Anoa’i family member after his ‘Rumble appearance.

[What has working with Booker T been like?] Man, magical,” Trick Williams stated. “He’s helped elevate my career to the next level. Oh yeah, man. Every single week, every single time I have my entrance, he’s been there co-signing, putting a young guy like Trick Williams over, and I appreciate that. But even more than what people see on TV, I’m talking about backstage, the film breakdown, the conversations, and the checkups on life. I’m talking about the true mentorship.”

Williams then expressed a desire to lock horns with his mentor, “I think it’s only right that Booker T’s last match should be with Trick Williams. The people would love to see it. That’s a box office waiting to happen.”

Booker T continues to work for WWE as a color commentator for NXT. But based on what Trick Williams has stated, Booker’s contributions go way beyond commentating. As for the TNA World Champion, he successfully defended the belt against former titleholder Joe Hendry and Mike Santana at Slammiversary on July 20.
