Booker T Would Love To Serve As Guest Referee In This WWE Rivalry: “I’d Be There In A Heartbeat”

Booker T Would Love To Serve As Guest Referee In This WWE Rivalry:

Booker T would be open to officiating a major match in WWE if the opportunity arose.

2024 has already seen a number of guest referees feature in major matches such as Bully Ray for the street fight at WrestleMania and Trick Williams for the main event of NXT No Mercy between Ethan Page and Joe Hendry. Additionally, Seth Rollins donned the black and white stripes at SummerSlam for CM Punk’s return to the ring against Drew McIntyre.

Although Punk defeated McIntyre in their rematch at Bash in Berlin in a strap match, McIntyre has made it clear that the rivalry is far from over. With Bad Blood being the next scheduled Premium Live Event for the company, which also happens to be the same name and the 25th anniversary of the 1st Hell in a Cell match taking place, many believe it to be an inevitability that both men will step inside the steel structure to bring their rivalry to an end.

On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T was asked if he would serve as the special referee for the match if presented with the opportunity, to which the former King of the Ring said he would love to if he got the call:

“I’d be there in a heartbeat. I would love to officiate a match like that and really call it right down the middle, mano a mano. That’s the way I see it.

Look, I’m not going to add anything else to it. I know if I add anything else to it, the internet may want to pick it up, and we ain’t going to do that. We gonna leave it right there.”

On the same episode, Booker T compared one rising NXT star to Goldberg.

Booker T Discusses AEW

While WWE has seen a surge in popularity in the past 12 months, All Elite Wrestling has seen a decline in interest both in attendance and in ratings. During a previous edition of his podcast, Booker T gave his thoughts on what AEW needed to change to increase the show’s popularity.
