Booker T Tells Tony Khan To Fix AEW Instead Of Taking Shots At WWE

Tony Khan Booker T

Booker T has hit out at Tony Khan following his comments about WWE Crown Jewel, telling the AEW President to focus on the turmoil in his own company.

Tony Khan recently caused a stir with comments regarding the “real” crown jewel of professional wrestling.

With AEW heading to New York for Grand Slam, the AEW boss described the American North East as the “real crown jewel of wrestling markets,” rather than “some BS overseas in Saudi Arabia.” A clear reference and dig at the WWE show in Saudi Arabia of the same name.

The event has been in the news recently as it was announced that Logan Paul will challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the show in November.

Booker T has taken issue with Khan’s comments, questioning whether the AEW President is stupid. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, co-host Brad Gilmore noted that Khan “wasn’t stupid” to which Booker replied; “Yeah, yeah. But maybe he is in a lot of ways.”

Continuing on, the WWE Hall of Famer called out Khan for “running his mouth about WWE,” adding that he should worry about the problems within AEW rather than taking shots at his rivals.

“Worry about yourself, worry about your company, worry about the turmoil that’s going on inside of AEW right now and try to fix that before you start thinking about what WWE is doing.”

The former World Champion said that he had a “lot of respect” for Khan, but that respect also has to be earned.

“Sometimes you earn respect, as well. You don’t earn it by going out there talking; you earn it by going out there and doing it… I think I would have a whole lot more respect for Tony Khan if he handled his business, and we all know what that is; we saw the press conference.”

The turmoil that Booker is referring to is the comments made by CM Punk following All Out and the subsequent brawl that erupted backstage. This chaos led to a number of AEW figures being suspended, including EVPs the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.

When asked about the situation in a new interview, Tony Khan offered no comment.
