Booker T Questions Tony Khan Booking Ring Of Honor

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T has questioned Tony Khan’s insistence that he will be the booker for Ring Of Honor after he announced he had bought the company.

Tony Khan opened the March 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite with a promised ground-breaking announcement. After praising AEW’s fanbase for keeping the promotion going throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Khan got down to the matter at hand.

The AEW boss pointed to the fact that another company, much like his own, held their first-ever show 20 years ago. That company was Ring of Honor. Via a cheeky reference to Shane McMahon’s storyline purchase of WCW in 2001, Khan announced that he was the new owner of Ring of Honor.

Since then Tony Khan has confirmed that he plans to be hands-on with his new company and will be booking Ring Of Honor, something that has raised eyebrows given Khan’s commitments with AEW, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Fulham FC.

Speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, the five-time WCW Champion Booker T questioned why Tony Khan would want to book the shows for Ring Of Honor when he’s already running AEW:

“Well, I don’t understand the idea of Tony Khan saying he’s going to book the shows at ROH because you’ve already got a company over here. Why would you want to do something like that, first of all? There again, it’s just going to be us doing shows.”

“Why do something like that when you’ve got a company over here that does shows? I don’t get it, I don’t understand it. But maybe here in the future, we will all know exactly what the hell is going on.”

“With wrestling, there again, when I have just about every wrestler under my banner out there on my programming, which is AEW, why would I try to fuel another roster? That’s what I am talking about.”

“That part right there is the hardest part, I think, in wrestling, creating the show through and having really, really good wrestlers on the show. When you’ve got them all, what are you going to get them? That’s the question. I am just trying to figure this thing out.”
