Booker T has boldly predicted that The Undertaker could yet step back into the ring one more time.
The Undertaker hasn’t wrestled since defeating AJ Styles at WrestleMania 36 in a Boneyard Match. While The Phenom formally retired from in-ring action at Survivor Series in 2020, three decades after his WWE career began at the same event.
Despite this, rumours persist that The Deadman might be tempted back into action one more time. The fact that his farewell came when there were no live fans present at WWE events, has only fuelled speculation that a ‘proper’ goodbye could take place at WrestleMania.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T agrees that fans could get to see The Undertaker in action one last time, although he doesn’t think it will be at WrestleMania 38.
“People are still wondering if ‘Taker is going to come back for one more,” Booker said. “But I don’t think we are going to see ‘Taker back for this WrestleMania. But I did say, we will see The Undertaker back inside the squared circle before it’s all said and done. At WrestleMania, one more time, that’s my prediction, and normally I am right.”
While The Undertaker formally retired in November 2020, wrestling retirements have always been notoriously flimsy. Just ask Terry Funk, Mick Foley or Ric Flair. Even Shawn Michaels, who was adamant that he would be staying away from the ring after losing to Taker at WrestleMania 26, was eventually tempted back to the squared circle.
The Deadman himself has also been tempted back into action more than once in the past, perhaps most famously after his defeat to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33.
Despite this, the sure-fire Hall of Famer continues to insist that he won’t be returning to the ring. Speaking at the end of 2021 while promoting WrestleMania 38, he stated that while his passion remains, his time in the ring has been and gone.
