Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny has recruited Booker T to star alongside him in his latest music video ‘Booker T’ – a song based on the WWE legend!
The Puerto Rican reggaetón superstar released the video this week for the latest single from El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo – his third studio album following YHLQMDLG and LAS QUE NO IBAN A SALIR.
A translation of the lyrics sees Bad Bunny proclaim “I’m a king, champion, Booker T!” & “I’m at my peak” heaping praise on the six-time world champion who remains flawlessly cool throughout the music video.
In the video, Bad Bunny raps and dances around the WWE legend who keeps deadly still until the final moments where he unlocks his dancing shoes – and, of course, we hear his signature “Can you dig it, sucka!” at the video’s end.
Booker recently talked about his collaboration with the rapper on his Hall of Fame podcast:
“From somewhere across the water, he’s watching Booker T and he’s digging what I’m doing, it lets me know I did something right as far as going out there from a performance perspective… I always wondered when somebody was going to come out with a song about Booker T, because I knew I was badass, but this is kind of the stamp of approval.”
Bad Bunny is a self-professed wrestling fan and has featured wrestlers in his past singles including Ric Flair (in ‘Chambea’) and Stone Cold Steve Austin (in ‘Quien Tu Eres’). His newest single released on 2nd January 2021 and already has over 11 million views on YouTube.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T isn’t a stranger to a camera outside of WWE, and has performed on screen before this most recent showing. Back in 2000 he appeared in the film Ready To Rumble as himself alongside Goldberg, Sting, DDP & Macho Man Randy Savage to name a few. He has also featured on an episode of Charmed, The Weakest Link and even Family Feud.
