Rumours continue to swirl around a potential in-ring comeback from Stone Cold Steve Austin. This has led some to wonder whether Austin could even step into the ring with Roman Reigns.
However, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has claimed that a match between the pair wouldn’t be a good idea.
Booker T Doesn’t Want To See Roman Reigns Vs. Steve Austin
In recent weeks Steve Austin has shared a number of workout videos on social media, which only added to the speculation. With the Royal Rumble just around the corner this seemingly pointed to Austin potentially being involved in some capacity. This is despite the man himself, in the most Steve Austin fashion, claiming that he was just “tired of looking like sh*t.”
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that he doesn’t think that Austin will feature in the Royal Rumble Match.
“I think Steve’s role could be a little bit bigger, you know, then being in the rumble because we all know what the rumble is leading to. I don’t think we want to put Steve Austin in a match like that knowing where it would lead to, which is him getting tossed out because he’s not going to win it.”
Although when it came to a potential showdown between Steve Austin and Roman Reigns, Booker wasn’t exactly enthusiastic.
“I don’t think that works. For Steve Austin to get up off the sofa at this age he is right now is pretty hard. Getting in the ring with Roman would not be a good idea.”
Plans for Roman Reigns at WrestleMania appear to also be very much up in the air. While there have long been rumours that Reigns is heading for a match with Dwayne Johnson, a new report has hinted that he could even wrestle twice at the event. The report suggested that there have been discussions backstage within WWE about Reigns facing both Johnson and Cody Rhodes.
