Booker T Shares Concerns About Performing Famous Move: “I’m Scared To Do It”

Booker T Weighs In On Zilla Fatu's GCW Dispute, Reality Of Wrestling & Potential WWE Signing

Booker T’s Spineroonie days may now be behind him.

Throughout his career, Booker T achieved great success in both WCW and WWE, picking up six World Championships and adopting iconic personas like King Booker. The Hall of Famer is fondly remembered for his many catchphrases, such as “5-Time!” and “Tell me he didn’t just say that!”, but arguably his most famous trait was the Spinaroonie taunt. Booker T performed the move thousands of times over the years, but it sadly looks like the Spinaroonie has now been reserved for very special occasions.

Speaking with The Undertaker on a Patreon exclusive Q&A, Booker T was asked about the Spinaroonie, and whether he’s still able to do the move now that he’s retired. Booker revealed that it takes a great deal of preparation:

“I tell people nowadays — they say, ‘Man, can you still do the Spinaroonie?’ I go, ‘Yeah, I can. But that’s about a three-to-four-hour warm-up.’ I stretch. I gotta make sure I pop this hip, pop this one, get some DDP Yoga in. It’s a process. I’m scared to do it right now. I’m scared if I do it right now, something’s gonna pop.”

When asked for the secret to a good Spinaroonie, Booker revealed:

“Torque. You gotta have that torque. Centrifugal force as well.”

Booker T first started using the move all the way back in 1992 when he was working with Championship Wrestling from Florida (CWF). He would use the Spinaroonie during matches as a comeback move, similar to Undertaker’s sit-up or Shawn Michaels kip-up. Booker T says the last time he hit the move was in 2023, when he was a surprise entrant in the WWE Royal Rumble.
