Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T explained why he’s sad to see John Laurinaitis released from WWE amidst allegations of misconduct.

News broke on June 15th that Vince McMahon was investigated by the WWE Board of Directors for allegedly paying $3 million to a former employee with whom he had an affair.

It was also noted that that the board’s investigation has also unearthed older non-disclosure agreements that surround claims of misconduct made by other former female WWE employees that involve both Vince McMahon and WWE’s Head of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis.

Reports noted that Laurinatis is being investigated by WWE’s Board of Directors in regard to a “$1.5 million nondisclosure agreement reached in 2012 with an employee.” Laurinaitis stepped down from his role as Head of Talent Relations at around the same time that the deal with the employee was reached. It is alleged that Laurinaitis demoted the woman after she ended their affair.

Since that time, Vince McMahon shocked the world by announcing his retirement from WWE on July 22nd, and John Laurinaitis was “quietly let go” from the company after being placed on administrative leave.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T explained why he’s sad to see Johnny Ace gone from the WWE despite the allegations against him.

“Laurinaitis, I give the dude a whole lot of credit for making me a much better performer. He was very, very instrumental in my career and making me challenge myself to think a whole lot more and to be better. So, yeah man, sad day for me. I’m sad to see Laurinaitis step down. I really am.”
