Booker T Says Royal Rumble Match “Could Be Greatest Or Crappiest Match”

Booker T

WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T thinks an upcoming headline match at the Royal Rumble could be feast or famine in terms of match quality.

While all eyes will surely be on the men and women’s Royal Rumble matches on the 29th of January, they are by no means the only matches taking place on the show. Roman Reigns will put his WWE Universal Title on the line against Seth Rollins while Becky Lynch will put her Raw Women’s Title on the line against Doudrop.

As far as the WWE Championship goes, that will be on the line in what many consider a dream match as two-sport standouts Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley finally go one-on-one.

According to Booker T speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the match could be a barn burner but given both men’s styles are similar, it could be a car crash instead:

“We haven’t seen anything like this in a long time. This is a throwback to what WWE used to look like. Now we could see two high-calibre athletes go out there and see if they can display this art that we do. Both of these guys have risen their game to another level. I can’t sit here and anticipate what we’re going to see. It could be the greatest match we’ve seen from two guys of that size or the crappiest match – one of the two.”

“But I do think both of these guys have exactly what it takes to go out and deliver something very, very special and memorable, which you’re going to remember for a very long time.”
