Booker T says he’s “proud” of his former Reality of Wrestling student’s massive title victory.
At NXT 2.0’s Great American Bash, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade defeated Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne to capture the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.
It’s the first major WWE title win for Perez as she continues to ride her momentum after winning the first-ever NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament a few weeks ago. Perez’s good run has caught the attention of fans as well as her mentor for former trainer, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
After the win, Booker T took to social media and immediately sent a congratulatory message to his former protégé.
Before arriving in WWE, Perez trained under the former World Champion while wrestling for his promotion, Reality of Wrestling. Perez eventually became the Women’s Champion before moving to Ring of Honor. While with ROH she became the first-ever Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion.
Perez signed with WWE’s developmental brand earlier this year.

Her feud with Toxic Attraction dates back to April when she defeated Jayne in her debut match on NXT. Perez stated that she plans on cashing in her Breakout Tournament Championship opportunity next week against Mandy Rose.
