In the wake of Jeff Hardy’s DUI arrest, Booker T says that fans shouldn’t abandon the star.
Jeff Hardy was arrested on June 13th after allegedly driving under the influence. According to Volusia County jail records, Hardy was charged with Driving While License Canceled/Suspended/Revoked, Violation of Restrictions Placed on Drivers License, and DUI Alcohol/Drugs Third Offense within 10 Years.
It was later reported that Hardy had nearly four times the legal limit of alcohol in his blood at the time of his arrest.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T spoke on his Hall of Fame Podcast and urged fans not to abandon Hardy in the wake of his troubles, and instead rally around the star to provide support.
“Do not abandon Jeff Hardy. This is not the time to abandon Jeff Hardy, it really isn’t. This is the time to really rally behind Jeff Hardy to be the Jeff that we all know and love more than anything.”
The WWE Hall of Famer continued, noting how odd it was for Jeff to say that he was going to the doctor for a brain scan when he was scheduled to compete in a ladder match on AEW Dynamite two days later.
“To see him get pulled over and the police asked him, you know, where he’s on his way to and he said he had a ‘Doctor’s appointment for a brain scan.’ I’m like, what the hell? You know what I mean? He’s got a ladder match two days after this and he’s got a doctor’s appointment for a brain scan?”
The Hardys were pulled from the ladder match following Jeff’s suspension from the company, and the Young Bucks went on to defeat Jurassic Express to become the first two time AEW World Tag Team Champions.
