Booker T Claims Drew McIntyre Shouldn’t Win At Clash At The Castle

Booker T

Despite many tipping Drew McIntyre to dethrone Roman Reigns at Clash At The Castle, Booker T doesn’t believe it’s the right time for the Tribal Chief to drop the gold.

Since becoming Universal Champion back in August 2020, Roman Reigns has been on the run of a lifetime. The star has dominated the entire WWE roster and defeated all-comers, including former champions and Hall of Famer’s. To emphasise his superiority, Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38 to add the WWE Championship to his list of accomplishments.

However, as is the case with any champion, there is always a queue of challengers waiting in the wings believing that they have what it takes to stand at the top of the mountain.

One such man is Drew McIntyre. The Scottish star has climbed back into title contention and is set to face Reigns at Clash At The Castle. Furthermore, with a home crowd behind him and in top form, many are tipping McIntyre to pull off a sensational win.

Despite this, not everyone is convinced. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast Booker T has claimed that it isn’t the right time for Reigns to lose his Undisputed WWE Universal crown.

“It can happen in Cardiff. I mean, what a story it would be for Drew McIntyre to do it in his own backyard. That would be awesome. I just think right now Roman Reigns is on another level. He’s doing some really, really, really good work. I don’t think it’s time for Roman to take a step back and have to rebuild all over again. I think Roman is the strongest character we have on the roster right now.”

While Clash At The Castle will feature some of WWE’s biggest names, it has been revealed that one star won’t be in attendance. It has been reported that despite previously being scheduled Ronda Rousey is now set to miss the event.
