Booker T has had his say on recent reports that The Young Bucks could jump to WWE.
Rumours of The Young Bucks reaching out to WWE have been circulating ever since the backstage altercation from the AEW All Out media scrum on September 4. In the aftermath of CM Punk’s comments where he called out AEW EVPs and Hangman Adam Page, a melee ensued in which it is alleged that Ace Steel reportedly bit Kenny Omega, and chairs were thrown.
Numerous suspensions have since followed. Along with Matt and Nick Jackson, their fellow AEW World Trios Champion partner Kenny Omega and others were suspended from the company with no set date on when they could return.
Conflicting reports have suggested The Young Bucks might have reached out to WWE but Hall of Famer Booker T doesn’t think that is likely to be the case. Speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker explained:
“They should be okay as far as money goes. I don’t think that they’re like some indie guys that are going to be looking for a job immediately because they had a fight or misunderstanding with somebody at work.
It just sounds so childish. It could be true, but a lot of people are just making up stories right now, and I just do not see The Young Bucks getting in touch with WWE upper management after they’ve had a kerfuffle with somebody at work.”
Their status in the company remains uncertain following their suspension and being stripped of the AEW World Trios Championships. Even their popular “Being The Elite” YouTube series was recently announced to be going on hiatus.
The Young Bucks are believed to be under contract with AEW until 2024
