Booker T has given his thoughts on the new WWE LFG show and how he feels it is different from the Tough Enough format that aired more than 20 years ago.
Recently airing on A&E, WWE LFG [Legends and Future Greats], sees aspiring wrestlers look to earn a contract in the company while under the mentorship of one of four coaches. The other legends joining Booker T in the series as coaches are The Undertaker, Mickie James and Bubba Ray Dudley.
Aware that some may draw comparisons to the Tough Enough series as the reality show also had a similar format, the NXT announcer explained the key difference between the two on his Hall of Fame podcast:
“I thought [‘Tough Enough’] was more like ‘American Gladiator.’ We had those guys doing so many different tasks, so many different obstacles those guys had to go through. With this show, it’s all about wrestling. It’s all about learning how to go out in the middle of the ring and learn how to perform in front of a live crowd.”
Hyping up the show, the Hall of Famer also added that the show is unlike anything fans have seen before:
“It’s gonna be very, very tricky to try to put yourself in line to win this thing. You’re gonna really check out how unique this thing is put together and you’re gonna go, ‘Wow. This is pretty cool.'”
Booker T Talks Hall Of Fame
With the 2025 Hall of Fame on the horizon, fans are curious as to who will be honoured in this year’s class. Having been inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, individually and as part of Harlem Heat, Booker T is very aware of what the recognition means to a veteran wrestler. When one former WWE star came up in conversation, Booker T stated he would be honoured to induct them into the Hall of Fame if the opportunity arose.
Also on his show, Booker T stated that he was all in on a WWE partnership.
