With the WWE Draft just around the corner, fan speculation is buzzing about which NXT stars will be making the move to the main roster.
In recent weeks any number of NXT Superstars have been linked with Raw and SmackDown, but Booker T believes one star could be destined for the very top.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the former World Champion looked back at Spring Breakin’ and gave his opinion on some of WWE’s rising stars. Booker admitted that he wouldn’t be surprised to see Grayson Waller get the call-up, praising him for his performance against Carmelo Hayes.
While looking back at the NXT Women’s Title match between Roxanne Perez, Tiffany Stratton, and Indi Hartwell he tipped his hat to all involved. The veteran reserved special praise for Stratton, noting that she’s set for a big future.
“The main event was awesome. The girls went out there and rocked it. Indi is definitely finding her place being champion. Indi has been working her butt off to finally get to that point. I’m so happy to see Indi in that position in there with another one of mine, Roxanne Perez, and then Tiffany Stratton, she’s definitely somebody that’s going to be a major star in the business. I mean, she is just on the cusp of figuring this thing out and really being able to blow it totally out of the water. But watching those girls go out there and perform, it was awesome.”
Carmelo Hayes Might Need “A Bit More Seasoning” – Booker T
During the podcast, Booker T also praised NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes for his match with Grayson Waller. However, he feels that he might need a little longer in NXT before exploding onto the main roster.
“Carmelo Hayes, same thing, but I see Carmelo Hayes perhaps needing maybe a little bit more seasoning before moving to that next level and representing that brand just a little bit longer, just to have a little bit more staying power, just to be a little bit stronger when you do make that move.”
Carmelo Hayes is set to make the next defence of his NXT Title against Bron Breakker at NXT Battleground.
