Booker T has given his two cents on Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey’s upcoming championship encounter at WrestleMania 38.
Charlotte Flair, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion, is currently scheduled to defend her championship 2022 women’s Royal Rumble winner Ronda Rousey in an intense championship showdown at WrestleMania 38, marking the pair’s second singles match together following the 2018 Survivor Series pay-per-view.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has now given his opinion on what the outcome of the match should be, doing so on the 296th edition of his Hall of Fame podcast. According to the legendary grappler, WrestleMania 38 should see Charlotte walking out with the championship intact (h/t Wrestling Inc.):
“Well, I mean, Charlotte needs a win over Ronda. Ronda’s always had the upper hand if I am not mistaken, over Charlotte Flair. So it is time for Charlotte to get a little piece of the action, a little champagne wishes and caviar dreams, man. I think Charlotte, it’s time for her to come up. There again, with Sonya Deville playing the role of when she’s got the jacket on, she’s one person, when she’s got the jacket off, she’s somebody else. It might work out.”
Ronda Rousey had previously defeated Charlotte in their encounter at Survivor Series 2018, albeit via disqualification, in a match that was originally billed as Ronda taking on Becky Lynch in a highly-anticipated showdown. After the then-Raw Women’s Champion was removed from the bout due to injury, however, it would be “The Queen” who stepped into her spot.
Aside from that clash, Ronda and Charlotte have collided two other times. Alongside Becky Lynch, they made up two thirds of the historic WrestleMania 35 main event, while just a few weeks ago, Rousey made a shock return to win the fifth women’s Royal Rumble match, last eliminating Charlotte Flair in the process.
As of this writing, the WrestleMania 38 opponents are scheduled to collide at this weekend’s Elimination Chamber event in Saudi Arabia. Ronda will partner with Naomi, while Sonya Deville will fill the role of Charlotte’s partner.
