WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T thinks it’s “ridiculous” to suggest that Lita is taking a full-time WWE Superstar’s spot in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble.
Lita was one of several former WWE Superstars that was announced on SmackDown as being part of the women’s Royal Rumble. Joining the four-time WWE Women’s Champion in the bout are the likes of The Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly, and current IMPACT Knockouts Champion, Mickie James.
Speaking on his Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T fired back at criticism from some quarters that Lita was taking a chance away from a younger star by appearing in the 30-women bout:
“That’s ridiculous. If there’s a spot open and if there were two people available and one of them was a young talent on the roster and the other talent was Lita, I’m taking Lita. The young talent has plenty more years to actually build herself up, to actually make it to that point, to actually make an impact by stepping into the Rumble as opposed to being in that Rumble.”
“We know what Lita brings to the table and that’s ‘eyes’, even though a lot of those eyes are from the past. But a lot of the eyes from the past make up a lot of eyes on the show.”
Lita was in a fighting mood when she returned to SmackDown on January 14th. Current SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair confronted Lita bringing out her Team Xtreme routes as Lita dropped The Queen with a Twist Of Fate.
