Booker T has discussed the chances of an AEW tag team and WWE Hall of Famer jumping back to WWE and says it wouldn’t surprise him one bit.
Stars moving from one wrestling company to another has long been commonplace in the industry and Booker T is no exception to that. The five-time WCW Champion made his name in World Championship Wrestling before joining WWE when WCW was bought by Vince McMahon.
Later in his career, Booker T left WWE for TNA before returning to WWE once again. Given his travels, Booker T is perhaps better placed to note which stars might eventually look for pastures new.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed the possibility of The Gunn Club and Billy Gunn upping sticks for a run in WWE:
“Those guys are probably having a good time over there in AEW right now, but I could imagine The Gunn Club would love a run in WWE – NXT or the main roster at some point. So, would I be surprised? Not one bit; not one bit if I saw Billy Gunn show up in WWE.”
“That’s just the way that business works, and I’ve said that before as far as guys going to AEW, just like me leaving WWE and going to TNA. Boom! Three years later, I’m back.”
