Booker T Addresses Idea Of Scott Hall Memorial Ladder Match

Scott Hall wins ladder match

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has weighed in on the possibility of WWE holding a Ladder Match in honour of the late, great, Scott Hall.

One of the most fondly remembered matches of Scott Hall’s legendary career is the Ladder Match that saw him and Shawn Michaels clash over the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 10.

The path to the bout started in September 1993 when Shawn Michaels was stripped of the Intercontinental Title for not defending it often enough. Hall went on to win the vacant title by defeating Rick Martel after the two were the last men standing in a 20-man Battle Royale.

Shawn Michaels refused to recognise Hall’s reign and insisted he was the true champion, leading to the ladder match which saw both men’s belts hung high above the ring. A thrilling match followed which saw many innovative uses of the ladder as a weapon. In the end, Hall trapped Michaels between the ropes and grabbed both belts for the victory.

Since Scott Hall tragically passed away on March 14th, many fans have been putting forward the idea of WWE holding a special Memorial Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship in honour of ‘The Bad Guy’.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T has given his thoughts on the idea, saying that it has a nice ring to it.

“That does have a nice ring to it. The thing is man, that’s just big shoes to fill, though. That’s big shoes to fill, man. Every time those guys gotta go out there and lay it on the line. They’re going to have to literally lay it all on the line. I’m talking about leaving everything on the middle of that squared circle. To have to do that, me personally, I would not want to be in that position.”

Since his passing, stars from across the wrestling world have been paying tribute to Scott Hall, including The Rock and his former NWO teammate Hulk Hogan.
