A huge seven-month streak earned by Bobby Lashley came crashing to an end at WrestleMania Backlash as he tangled with Omos.
Hostilities began between Lashley and Omos when the former WWE Champion returned after a short hiatus at WrestleMania 38 to answer the giant star’s open challenge. Bobby Lashley was able to overcome Omos on that occasion, handing him his first televised singles loss in WWE.
Shortly thereafter, Lashley’s manager MVP took issue with his client making his WrestleMania return by himself and turned on Lashley to join forces with Omos. Now with MVP guiding him, the 7ft 3 inch star once again was set to tangle with Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash.
On this occasion, Omos was able to overcome Lashley, even breaking The Hurt Lock before dropping Lashley with a two-handed chokeslam to pick up the pinfall victory.
This loss was the first time Lashley had been pinned on WWE television in seven months. The last time Bobby Lashley was left looking at the lights was back in October 2021 when he lost a No Holds Barred Falls Count Anywhere match against Goldberg at Crown Jewel.
Between these losses Lashley won and lost the WWE Championship but did so without being pinned. He lost the WWE Title in the Elimination Chamber in February but left the match before he could compete due to having to enter concussion protocol when Seth Rollins powerbombed Theory into Lashley’s pod. Brock Lesnar went on to win that match and the WWE Championship which he lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
