Bobby Lashley‘s WWE contract is fast approaching its end.
Back in July, Fightful Select reported that Bobby Lashley’s WWE contract was expiring soon and that the star was not expected to return to television before becoming a free agent. The star hasn’t been seen on TV since the SmackDown after WrestleMania, and he was reportedly removed from the company’s internal roster.
Dave Meltzer shed more light on the situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:
“He is on his way out. Bobby Lashley and MVP both. I know that there’s talk of them trying to get into AEW. I mean, it’s one of those things where technically nobody can talk to them because I don’t believe either’s contract has expired, but their contracts are going to expire. As things stand right now, WWE is under the assumption that they are gone and that they are going to try to revamp The Hurt Business. I don’t know if they’ll use that name or not, I guess depends on the ownership of the name.”
When Does Bobby Lashley’s WWE Contract Expire?
Now, Fightful Select confirms that Lashley’s contract will expire this coming weekend. Sources who spoke with Fightful at SummerSlam confirmed that he’s expected to leave the company.
Continuing, the report notes that All Elite Wrestling has had discussions about bringing in the former WWE Champion, but no official offer has been extended as he’s still under contract at this time.
Fightful Select also reports that Lashley has interest in the fighting world and in Japan. Sources close to the star expect him to become All Elite, and they indicated to Fightful that Lashley is ready to return to television.
MVP recently issued a statement on his own rumored exit from WWE. His contract has already expired.
