Bobby Lashley has expressed interest in becoming a WWE Tag Team Champion with MVP.
The current WWE Champion has amassed an almighty record of accomplishments throughout his WWE career, including two reigns each with the United States, Intercontinental, ECW, and WWE Championships, but one thing missing from that list is a run as Tag Team Champion.
In an interview with the Bleacher Report’s Graham Matthews, Lashley explained how MVP has been rehabbing for an in-ring return, where he hinted at chasing the titles alongside his Hurt Business colleague (h/t Sportskeeda):
“One thing I haven’t won yet in WWE is a tag team title. MVP’s been rehabbing. I just saw him post something again [recently] on Instagram doing some work and I know he’s getting ready. Every time he sees me, he says, ‘Bro, I’m almost there, I’m almost there.’ He’s putting on some good weight and he’s training. Me and MVP might do a run at the tag team titles, also.”
Though Bobby Lashley is yet to hold a Tag Team Championship, MVP is a former one-time WWE Tag Team Champion alongside Matt Hardy. Together, they enjoyed a 77-day run as champions before being usurped by John Morrison and The Miz.
Presumably, Lashley and MVP would chase the Raw Tag Team Championships, currently held by Alpha Academy. The red brand’s doubles division currently has RK-Bro, The Street Profits, and The Mysterios, among others, in contention to challenge Chad Gable and Otis, so the addition of Bobby Lashley and MVP would put them into an already stacked division.
At the moment, Lashley is preparing to defend his WWE Championship in an Elimination Chamber match against Brock Lesnar, Austin Theory, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, AJ Styles, and Riddle.
