WWE have confirmed that Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship will open WrestleMania 37 night one.
The news comes off the back of the announcement that Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title will headline the same night.
WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon had earlier suggested that the huge women’s title match would headline night one, while the news was later confirmed by WWE.

Reacting to the news that he would be opening the show, Bobby Lashley commented:
“If you aren’t main eventing, open the show.
Can’t wait to hear the WWE Universe live, cheering and in person…….. and then hear the absolute silence when I take down your “Warrior.””
Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre have been embroiled in a heated feud since the closing stages of WWE Elimination Chamber in February.
At the event, McIntyre retained the WWE Championship in a brutal Elimination Chamber match, but was attacked by Bobby Lashley. Lashley and MVP had done a deal with Money In The Bank winner Miz, to ensure a world title shot for Lashley should he help Miz win the belt. After the beatdown from Lashley, Miz hit the ring and promptly pinned McIntyre to win the WWE Title.
However, Miz’ title reign proved to be short lived as Lashley pinned the champion on the March 1st episode of RAW.
Inside The Ropes will have live coverage of the show when WrestleMania 37 night 1 kicks off at 1am BST on Saturday April 10th, followed by night 2 at 1am on Sunday April 11th.
