Bobby Lashley Says “Lashley’s Sisters” Was Him “Paying Dues” [Exclusive]

Ahead of his WWE Championship opportunity on Monday Night RAW against The Miz, Bobby Lashley has revealed that he looks back on the storylines he was part of before joining Hurt Business with “love” and that they show he was willing to “pay dues” while awaiting his opportunity.

The Dominator was asked by Inside The Ropes‘ Lead Writer Gary Cassidy to reflect upon his wedding with Lana and the “Lashley’s sisters” segment with Sami Zayn, and discuss who or what he believes should be credited for his journey to now being one of the most intimidating Superstars in WWE.

The former United States Champion did laugh at the mention of the “Lashley’s sisters” angle, but would say he doesn’t resent it by any means.

“Well, it was always me. First of all, it was always me. What I always tell people is that I love and enjoy every single thing that I’ve done in the WWE, and everything that I’ve done period. A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, you weren’t where you were supposed to be’ – everything is a journey, everything is a journey.”

Lashley would go on to say that his journey was “a little different” but revealed that it shows his unselfishness and how he was happy to “pay dues” while biding his time.

“My journey was, of course, a little different since coming back but, man, I look back at it and I say, you know what? It just shows that I’m willing to pay the dues and shows that I’m in there for the show, and it shows I’m ready for my time.”

The former United States Champion was also asked about previous comments where he said Brock Lesnar was the match he had returned to WWE for, but the Hurt Business man now has his sights set elsewhere.

“As far as Brock, Brock is one person but how I look at it is Drew beat Brock in, like, no time. So, of course, my sights were set on Brock for some time but, like I said, Drew is the man, Drew is the one that beat him, Drew beat Goldberg.”

Lashley went on to say how the Brock Lesnar match is that “mystery dream match” that everyone wants, but believes Drew McIntyre is “the best” and the “top guy” – despite being dethroned, and pinpointed The Scottish Warrior as his potential WrestleMania challenger.

“Of course Brock is that kind of mystery match, dream match that everybody has wanted us to have for some time right now but right now, I’m looking to be the best and right now the best is Drew. Drew is the top guy. If I beat Miz, or when I beat Miz, I think Drew is the guy.”
