Heading into WrestleMania season it was believed that Bobby Lashley would be taking on Bray Wyatt at the spectacular.
Plans for the match were seemingly put into motion after Brock Lesnar turned down a match with WWE’s spookiest star. However, Waytt’s taunting of Lashley was initially done at a distance before he disappeared from television altogether.
It has been reported that the star is dealing with an unspecified illness but isn’t expected to be out for long. Despite this, his absence and uncertain availability have left Bobby Lashley in WrestleMania limbo. No match with Wyatt was officially confirmed on television, and neither was a replacement.
On the March 24th edition of SmackDown, it was revealed that the All-Mighty will be taking part in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. This came after it was reported that WWE has a backup plan to ensure Lashley is featured at WrestleMania potentially involving LA Knight. Interestingly, Knight is also set to be involved in the match.
Speaking in a new interview with Denise Salcedo, Lashley commented on his disrupted preparation for the event, while looking ahead to his match on the 31st.
“It’s a big fight feel, WrestleMania is always going to be that way. Right now, we’re trying to figure out what I’m going to do, being the All Mighty former WWE Champion and everything like that, still in search of finding that big matchup. That’s what everybody wants to do when they go to WrestleMania, they want to have a big iconic matchup in front of hundreds of thousands of fans and do what we love. Right now, I’m kind of half and half, getting ready for it and preparing for that day. I have a big match on Friday night, hopefully, that trickles over and causes something big for Saturday or Sunday.”
With regard to Bray Wyatt, Lashley admits he has no idea what’s going on with the star.
“I have no idea. All I know is that I think I provoke fear in a lot of people. You can go out there with me, we can have a great match, but at the end of the day, The All Mighty always comes through. I’m looking for him, I’m looking for whoever wants to step up. Right now, a lot of people in the business are looking like, ‘this is going to be a fun match for me.’ If you want a real challenge, I’m the real challenge for anybody on the roster.”
Former WWE Star Offers To Face Bobby Lashley
In a recent interview, former WWE Superstar Chris Masters threw his name into the ring to face Bobby Lashley.
The pair have a lengthy history with Lashley being the first man to break the Master Lock back in 2007. In an unlikely twist, Lashley’s current finishing move in the Hurt Lock, is actually the same Full-Nelson submission.
