Bobby Lashley Set To Defend WWE United States Championship In A Steel Cage Match on Raw

Bobby Lashley celebrates as WWE United States Champion at WWE Money in the Bank 2022

WWE has confirmed that current United States Champion Bobby Lashley is set to defend his title in a Steel Cage match on this coming Monday’s Raw.

WWE is coming off the back of the Clash At The Castle premium live event, which was headlined by Roman Reigns successfully defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Drew McIntyre.

Elsewhere on the show, Gunther retained his Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus, and Liv Morgan successfully defended the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler.

One championship that did not make it onto the card, however, was the United States Championship, much to the chagrin of former champion The Miz. He took to Twitter to challenge Bobby Lashley to a Steel Cage match for the title this Monday, tweeting:

“The fact that the US Championship is not represented at Clash at the Castle is a slap in the face to every legend who has ever held it. Maryse and I may be on vacation, but this Monday it’s back to business. WWE Raw Lashley vs. Miz for the US Title inside a steel cage. #NoDistractions”

The ‘All Mighty’ Bobby Lashley quickly accepted Miz’s challenge, simply tweeting:

“I accept. See you Monday”

An announcement on WWE.com has confirmed the match and the clash is officially slated for this Monday’s Raw in Kansas City. It has also been speculated that former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman is set to make his return to the company on the same show.
