Bobby Lashley Claims Multiple Wrestlers Tried To Sabotage WWE Star's Career

Bobby Lashley has claimed that multiple WWE stars attempted to sabotage the career of Omos.

At 7 foot 3, Omos towered over the rest of the roster and was presented as a dominant giant. First paired with AJ Styles and winning the Tag Team Championships, The Nigerian Giant went on to feud with The Phenomenal One to lead to a solo career.

Victorious in a series of squash matches, Omos was confronted by The Allmighty to set up a match at WrestleMania 38, which was also Omos’s singles debut on The Grandest Stage. The 6-and-a-half-minute match saw Lashley accomplish what many were unable to as he defeated the former Tag Team Champion.

Looking back at the rivalry while appearing on The Lame Guys Podcast, Lashley claimed that multiple stars attempted to make Omos look bad and try to get him released from the company:

That was cool, that was cool (working Omos at WrestleMania 38) and I’m taking the credit for Omos. Everybody else will, because he started turning it on after that, because when he first came on, they were gonna fire him because he hurt a couple people. He’s a freaking giant. He makes me feel like a child and when he came in there at the beginning, he was wrestling with certain people and there was a couple people like, ‘Gosh dang it!’ And yelling at him and trying to make him look bad to the office and trying to get him fired because he hit a dude hard and stuff like that.

Continuing, Lashley stated that although others were reluctant to work with the former Tag Team Champion, he was more than happy to have a match against The Giant, referencing the mentality of The Undertaker in wanting to get a good match out of an opponent outside of their comfort zone:

So when they put him with me, I was like, ‘I’ll work with him,’ because I understand where he’s coming from and I had the mentality of Taker. Taker looked at somebody like him saying, ‘I wanna work with that guy.’ Some of these guys are like, ‘I wanna work with my buddy because we can make a cool match, we can do cool stuff.’ Man, you gotta overcome obstacles. That’s what wrestling is about, and I was like, he’s an obstacle for me. Not too many people are but he is an obstacle for me. He’s bigger, stronger — well, I don’t know about stronger (Lashley laughed). He’s bigger.

Bobby Lashley Discusses AEW

Although he has yet to debut at the time of writing, many expect to see Lashley make his AEW debut imminently. While AEW has been the subject of criticism from the fans in recent months, Bobby Lashley defended one critique.

In recent news, Omos said that he is ready to return to the WWE and work as a singles star.
