Bobby Fish discussed what he believes will be the timeframe for Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to return to the ring.
When Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly returned to AEW television on August 3rd, they confirmed reports that they weren’t yet medically cleared to compete. During that appearance, the Undisputed Elite came to an end as a group when Cole, O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish turned on the Young Bucks, attacking them to try and keep them out of the AEW Trios Championship Tournament if they were going to be choosing another partner.
The Young Bucks weren’t deterred, however, and on August 17th, none other than former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made his return to the company for the first time since November to serve as the third member of their team, earning a victory in the tournament quarterfinals.
Speaking on the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Bobby Fish addressed Cole and O’Reilly’s injuries keeping their team out of the tournament and said that it wouldn’t be long before we saw the team back in action.
“We weren’t going to be able to do it, all three of us, at the time that we needed to be. Plans had to be shifted. Much like everything in pro wrestling, it’s all subject to change. This, unfortunately, is one of those things that became subject to change. Right now, I’m the only one who is fully healthy. It’s just a matter of the boys getting back. It won’t be long, but that’s where we are at the moment, just giving the boys a little time to heal and then we’ll get this thing going again.”
Though he is the only healthy member of the group, Fish hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since July 18th, where he defeated Blake Li on Dark Elevation. However, he did recently compete at the independent promotion Defy on August 20th, defeating Yuya Uemura in Seattle, WA.
There is currently no official timetable for Cole or O’Reilly to return to in-ring action.
