According to a new report, current IMPACT star Bobby Fish has been seen backstage at recent NXT events.
Bobby Fish spent four years in WWE as part of The Undisputed ERA with Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong, being a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion and two-time NXT Tag Team of the Year during this stint. He joined All Elite Wrestling last October after his WWE release, forming The Undisputed Elite with Cole and O’Reilly.
After less than a year in the company, Fish left AEW in September 2022. Despite speculation that he would head back to WWE, the star instead shocked many by making his IMPACT Wrestling debut at their Victory Road special on September 23rd.
However, PWInsider recently reported that Fish is still a free agent as he has not officially signed with IMPACT. Despite this, he has made numerous appearances for the company and was most recently in action on the October 8th edition of IMPACT. There, he unsuccessfully attempted to capture the IMPACT World Championship from Josh Alexander.
Bobby Fish backstage at NXT live events
Now, Fightful Select has reported that Bobby Fish has made his return to WWE, albeit in a different way than many expected.
According to Fightful, Fish was backstage at recent NXT live events serving as a guest coach for the brand.
The report notes that Anthony Greene was also spotted backstage at the events. Greene is better known by his WWE name August Grey. He had a brief run in the company from 2020-2021.
Since being released, he has been working on the independent scene as well as being seen on AEW TV several times, including in a losing effort to Fish himself. He has also been seen in the Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH where he competed in the annual N-1 Victory Tournament, finishing up at the bottom of the A Block with only one victory to his name.
