Blood And Guts Challenge Issued On AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho Eddie Kingston Blood and Guts

Eddie Kingston challenged the members of the Jericho Appreciation Society to a Blood and Guts match on AEW Dynamite!

The Blackpool Combat Club alongside Santana and Ortiz went to war with the Jericho Appreciation Society at AEW Double or Nothing in an Anarchy in the Arena match that saw both teams bloodied and battered. Near the end of the match, Eddie Kingston made a surprise appearance to help out the members of the Blackpool Combat Club, bringing along a gasoline can and dousing both Jericho and Bryan Danielson.

When he attempted to light a fire, however, Danielson slapped the lighter out of his hand, which allowed Jericho and Jake Hager to overpower him for the win.

Chris Jericho took to the microphone to address the situation on AEW Dynamite, calling out Eddie Kingston for being a madman and asking a question that might raise some eyebrows given his propensity to throw fireballs in recent weeks and call himself a wizard.

“He comes to the ring with a gas can, pours gasoline all over me, and wants to light me on fire? What kind of man burns another man?”

This brought out an enraged Eddie Kingston, who revealed that everyone on the opposing team is angry with him for causing the loss at Double or Nothing. After saying that Danielson and Moxley won’t talk to him, he said he wanted to fight all the members of the Jericho Appreciation Society, and said he’d let William Regal – well known for announcing War Games matches during his time as NXT General Manager – tell them where he wanted to fight.

Regal then took to the microphone and shouted, “BLOOD AND GUTS!”

Jericho initially denied the challenge, and the members of the Jericho Appreciation Society beat up Eddie Kingston, but Ortiz came out to make the save, attacking Jericho in the ring and cutting off a piece of his hair.

The Wizard then accepted the Blood and Guts challenge, but on one condition: he first wants to face Ortiz in a Hair vs. Hair match for a chance to shave the former Inner Circle teammate bald. Ortiz accepted, and Jericho made his intentions clear:

“I’m gonna beat you, I’m gonna shave you, and I’m gonna burn you. Why? Because I’m a wizard!”

At the end of the show, it was announced that Blood and Guts will take place on Dynamite on June 29th at the Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, MI.
