The go-home episode of WWE SmackDown ahead of Survivor Series saw Drew McIntyre and Sheamus take on The Usos in the main event with both teams vying to secure the advantage for their respective teams inside WarGames. In the end, McIntyre and Sheamus scored a surprising victory over the WWE Tag Team Champions, ensuring that their team would have the coveted advantage.
As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the November 25th Black Friday edition of WWE SmackDown drew an average of 2,166,000 viewers with a 0.54 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. This is a decrease from the previous week, which drew 2,232,000 average viewers with a 0.56 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic.
In addition to the main event match for the WWE Survivor Series WarGames advantage, WWE SmackDown saw the reveal that Becky Lynch was returning to WWE at long last after suffering a shoulder injury in her match against Bianca Belair at SummerSlam. Lynch was the surprise fifth opponent competing alongside Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and Mia Yim against the team of Bayley, Nikki Cross, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, and Rhea Ripley.
Elsewhere on WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens approached Sami Zayn about turning on The Bloodline before they could turn on him. Jey Uso overheard the conversation and went to his cousin Roman Reigns about it, but Reigns’ trust in Sami was not misplaced, and Sami helped their team score the victory at Survivor Series.
