The wife of WWE Hall of Famer Superstar Billy Graham is asking for prayers as he faces another health setback.
The former WWWF World Champion is currently hospitalized, and writing on his Facebook page, his wife Valerie provided an update on his health:
“Lots of issues… MRI showed he has a very bad infection in his ears that has spread to the bones in his ears as well as an area of his skull…infectious disease doctor was just in trying to decide what antibiotics they’re going to start him on. His electrolytes are still off…his low sodium is especially difficult to treat and they don’t know why at this point. We need your prayers.”
Superstar Billy Graham Has Suffered Multiple Health Issues Over The Years
Graham has suffered multiple health issues since 2002, when he discovered he had cirrhosis of the liver. He received a liver transplant from a 26-year-old donor that had passed away.
Further problems with his liver led to him being back in the hospital again in 2006 and 2010, whilst in 2012, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 liver disease and cirrhosis.
In 2013 and 2014 he was hospitalized due to pneumonia and possible heart failure, and further liver concerns led to him undergoing surgeries throughout 2016.
Since then his health problems have persisted. He suffered a heart attack in September 2019, he had an infection in his big toes in December 2020, and then was hospitalized for “being in AFib and heart failure with fluid in his lungs.”
One of his more recent visits to the hospital was in June 2022, when he needed partial amputations of his toes due to the worsening infections.
In his 1970’s heyday, Superstar Billy Graham was one of the biggest stars in the WWWF (the precursor to the WWF, now WWE). He defeated Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF Heavyweight Championship on April 30, 1977, in Baltimore, Maryland, and held the title for nine and a half months before eventually losing to Bob Backlund on February 20, 1978.
Graham was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by Triple H in 2004.
