WWE is hours away from the SmackDown go-home show before The Great American Bash, Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Evolution. Officials are busy finalizing last-minute plans, and that means big things for a few superstars, including dual champion Sol Ruca, who has made a big statement on her WWE future. There are also big blue brand championship updates going into tonight’s episode.
Tonight’s SmackDown is set to be a loaded episode from Nashville, featuring Jelly Roll in a rumored major angle for SummerSlam, plus the final build for Saturday’s The Great American Bash XIII, Saturday Night’s Main Event XL, and Evolution II on Sunday. It’s believed that there will also be several cross-brand appearances with RAW and NXT Superstars appearing to hype the weekend’s events.
The Sol Snatcher is 83 days into her first reign as the NXT Women’s North American Champion, but will defend against Izzi Dame at The Bash. The 25-year-old will then make her main roster PLE debut at WWE Evolution, teaming with Zaria to challenge the Women’s Tag Team Champions Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. The Fatal 4 Way bout will also feature The Kabuki Warriors’ Asuka and Kairi Sane, plus the team of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
Ruca last wrestled on July 8 to retain her Speed Women’s Championship over Alba Fyre, putting her first reign at 91 days as of now. The California native has a chance to make history at Evolution by dethroning The Judgment Day with the former DELTA, making her a triple champion, but first, she will make her official main roster in-ring debut on WWE SmackDown.
After retaining over Fyre on this week’s WWE Speed episode, Ruca took to X/Twitter and looked forward to becoming a triple champion. The statement was made before she learned of tonight’s blue brand debut.
“Now it’s time to defend the North American Title and snatch those Tag Team Titles babyyy 🤙🏽💙,” Sol Ruca wrote.

Sol Ruca, Trish Stratus, Tiffany Stratton Added To WWE SmackDown
Sol Ruca has worked two WWE Main Event matches in the past, but tonight’s SmackDown will be her official main roster in-ring debut. She lost to Alba Fyre on Main Event in September 2024, but defeated Tatum Paxley on the same show three weeks later.
In a preview of the Evolution tag team Fatal 4 Way, tonight’s SmackDown will feature Ruca vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Kairi Sane vs. Roxanne Perez. Each competitor will have their respective tag team partners at ringside: Zaria, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez.
SmackDown will also feature a face-off between Trish Stratus and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton. This will serve as the final build to their title match at Evolution on Sunday.
WWE previously announced Jelly Roll for tonight’s SmackDown at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. The following was also confirmed earlier: Ron Killing vs. Aleister Black, WWE Tag Team Champions the Street Profits defend against The Wyatt Sicks.
