AEW Battle Of The Belts II will air on Saturday 16th of April but on a night of huge championship matches, a massive title change is slated to have taken place.
The second Battle Of The Belts event was filmed on Friday, 15th of April following a special live edition of AEW Rampage. Rampage saw the Blackpool Combat Club in six-man tag team action for the first time as they took on The Gunn Club. In that show’s main event the AEW World Championship was on the line as Hangman Adam Page put his gold on the line against Adam Cole in a Texas Death Match.
The championship matches continued in Garland, Texas with three big matches on the Battle Of The Belt II show. Scorpio Sky put his TNT Championship on the line against two-time champion Sammy Guevara, Thunder Rosa’s AEW Women’s Championship was up for grabs against Nyla Rose, and for the first time ever the ROH World Championship was on the line as Jonathan Gresham defended his gold against Dalton Castle.
Reports from the event have now emerged stating that Sammy Guevara defeated Scorpio Sky to win the TNT Title for the third time and end Sky’s undefeated streak that lasted over a year.
Sammy Guevara is now the second man to hold the TNT Championship three times after Cody Rhodes already reached the feat when he defeated The Spanish God for the title back in December 2021.
