Former WWE Champion, The Big Show, has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Gus Hoffman in the movie, Marcus, at the East European International Film Festival.
The movie has received an impressive nine nominations including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Each nomination comes after the movie won the Audience Award at the Buffalo International Film Festival last weekend and is due to premier at the LA International Film Festival next month.
The movie synopsis reads:
“Marcus has a checkered past, but unexpected news brings an opportunity for him to right old wrongs and make amends. Marcus will have to face the consequences and overcome the greatest obstacle of all in order to find happiness: Himself.”
The East European International Film Festival will take place in December.
Marcus is The Big Show’s latest endeavour into acting after recently appearing in his own series, The Big Show Show on Netflix, Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered, and playing Big Pink the hit television show Happy.
In past years, the star has appeared in movies such as Jingle All the Way, The Waterboy alongside Adam Sandler and Fighting With My Family while his past television credits include One on One, the Star Trek Enterprise episode ‘Borderland’ and Burn Notice to name just a few.
Big Show last appeared on WWE television on the September 28 Monday Night Raw when Randy Orton attacked him, Christian, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels after the quartet had cost ‘The Viper’ the WWE Championship the night before at WWE Clash of Champions.
As per Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Big Show is considered retired from professional wrestling.
