WWE Champion Big E has joked about a more logistical reason as to why he decided to call his shot and cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase.
Big E made his intentions clear early on the 13th of September when he took to social media to tell the world of his intention to head to Raw and cash in his Money In The Bank contract on the WWE Champion. On that edition of Raw then WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defended his title against Randy Orton with The All Mighty one managing to come out on top.
His celebration was cut short however as Big E soon made his presence felt and challenged Lashley for his title. Lashley gave a strong showing in the short match but Big E survived a spear before hitting a Big Ending to capture his first WWE Championship.
Now speaking to The Undefeated, Big E says that his decision to cash in came from being tired of carrying around the bulky briefcase:
“I was tired of walking around with that damn briefcase. I stopped checking bags because things are chaotic at airports and it’s difficult to fit into my bag. So, I said, ‘I’m tired of this, let’s make it tonight.’”
Big E then also touched on the moment he made his entrance and the reaction of the fans both in the arena and around the world to his success:
“When that Wale tune hit that I come out to and people lost it, that was really beautiful. That’s what makes that moment special to me. That pop, that reaction. One of the biggest things to me is just getting back to everyone, all of the missed texts. I had 144 missed texts. … Not to mention all the DMs. Everyone has just been so overwhelmingly positive and kind.”
