Big E would have loved to face a legend he calls his childhood idol.
While his wrestling future is currently up in the air following a serious neck injury in 2022, Big E can look back on a successful career that saw him become a top star in The New Day, hold the World Title, and take on a who’s who of the biggest names in wrestling of the last decade.
During a recent interview with IGN, the star was asked if there was anyone he wanted to face but was unable to during his time in WWE. After saying he had been able to wrestle “everyone,” he admitted that he would have wanted to take on the legendary Goldberg.
The star explained that Goldberg was his childhood idol, so to be able to face him in the ring would have been a full circle moment for his career.
“I’ve been pretty fortunate to wrestle everyone, a lot of people from the roster. Maybe I think Goldberg, we’ve had some interactions, but I think it would have been so beautifully and weirdly full circle to get a chance to wrestle my childhood idol.
“I got a chance to meet him at a signing in the late 90s when I was still a kid. So a chance to wrestle Goldberg would have been very, very cool.”
