On the October 18th edition of AEW Dynamite Hangman Adam Page challenged Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship.
As predicted by many the action was chaotic from the outset, with Page going to meet his rival in the crowd as he made his entrance. The two men brawled their way back to ringside, and Moxley was bleeding heavily before the opening bell even sounded.
As the action progressed there was no let up in the ferocity as both men continued to go hell for leather. However, the match came to an unexpected and scary end with around ten minutes of the show remining. Moxley launched himself into a huge Lariat which turned Page inside out, but as Page flipped he landed on his head and neck.
The star was immediately checked on by the referee and the ringside doctor, leading to the match being called off. Page was taken away on a stretcher.
“Praying For Hangman” – Big E
In the aftermath of the incident WWE star Big E wrote on social media that he was praying for Hangman. Big E of course suffered a serious neck injury back in March after landing awkwardly following a overhead Belly-to-Belly Suplex. At time of writing his in-ring future remains unclear.
Praying for Hangman.
