Big E Makes First Public Appearance Since Suffering Neck Injury

Big E

Former WWE Champion Big E made his first public appearance since breaking his neck on SmackDown in March!

On the March 11th edition of SmackDown, Big E suffered a serious neck injury during a match that saw him teaming with Kofi Kingston to take on Sheamus and Ridge Holland.

After Big E fell to the outside, he was given an overhead Belly to Belly Suplex by Holland. However, instead of Big E flipping all the way over and landing on his back, he landed on his head and neck.

The former WWE Champion posted a video on Twitter the following day explaining that he had injured his C1 and C6 vertebrae.

“C1 and C6 are indeed fractured, no displacement though, which is a very good thing. I don’t have any damage to my spinal cord, no ligament damage, and no surgery, which I’m very thankful for.”

In early May, the star revealed that recovery was taking longer than he’d planned, and that he’d need to spend an additional four to six weeks in a neck brace to avoid surgery.

Now, Titus O’Neil has taken to social media to post a picture of Big E’s first public appearance since suffering his career-altering injury. The two Florida natives attended a Tampa Bay Lightning game, and O’Neil’s Twitter post celebrated both the team’s big win and the fact that Big E was able to come out to witness the occasion.

The game in question saw the hockey team victorious with a score of 4-1 in game four of the Stanley Cup playoffs over the New York Rangers. Both teams currently have two wins in the playoffs and will face off next on June 9th.
