Big E Debuts New Theme With An Old Gimmick

Big E Thumb

New Day powerhouse, Big E, has taken steps to change his character and gimmick in the wake of news that he is in line for a major push.

During the December 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the former WWE Tag Team Champion appeared for his bout with brand new entrance music penned by Seal and reverted to his previous persona of chalking his hands on his entrance.

The one time NXT Champion first debuted the ritual while a member of the black and gold brand, then transferring it to the main roster when he was made a bodyguard for Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee.

It has long been said that the talent needs a massive overhaul in order to be taken seriously as a main event talent, despite his zany New Day persona carrying him to heights previous unthinkable when he donned the dull singlets.

When E split from Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, it was heavily rumoured that the break-up was done in order to help the muscleman stand-out from the group in order that the company may push him.

Though he appeared at his friend’s side at Survivor Series on November 23, the talent was originally scheduled to win the Kickoff Battle Royal in order to hold him in good stead going into the Royal Rumble.

Big E vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship has long been an idea for the WrestleMania 37 main event. A bout which would replace The Rock vs. Roman Reigns should WWE be unable to secure insurance for ‘The Great One’.
