Big E Confirms Ex-WWE Star Is Returning To The Company

Big E has confirmed that the rumours are true and that a former WWE star is set to make a return to the company.

After being absent from AEW TV for over a year, news broke in February that Miro, previously known as Rusev, had been granted his release from the promotion.

Shortly afterwards, it was reported that Rusev was spotted at company headquarters and that the former United States Champion had signed a new deal. While there has been no confirmation that The Bulgarian Brute will return on Rusev Day, a major update has been provided.

The former World Champion appeared alongside Tyler Breeze at a Fanatics Live Session at WWE World, where they were opening packs of trading cards. When a Rusev card was seen, Big E stated that he had contacted the former AEW star and confirmed that he would be back:

“Someone that has just been announced to return. You didn’t see that? I reached out to him, and he confirmed that the news is indeed true. I don’t know when he’ll be back, but there is Rusev. A blast from the past. And actually this is very topical because he has just announced that he is returning to the squared circle here in World Wrestling Entertainment.”

Big E Claims To Know Identity Of Mysterious Wrestler

The recent appearance was one of many to promote WrestleMania 41, which will take over Allegiant Stadium over Easter weekend. One of the matches confirmed for the show will see Rey Mysterio take on fellow masked wrestler El Grande Americano, who has targeted the Hall of Famer in recent weeks. While the identity of El Grande Americano has not been revealed, Big E has explained why he is adamant that it is Chad Gable.
