According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both Big E and Lars Sullivan missed WWE Survivor Series for very different reasons.
On the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer noted that both men were favourites to triumph in the Kickoff Show Battle Royal but were both absent from in-ring action even though they were advertised.
As per Dave Meltzer, Big E was kept back from competing because WWE wanted to save him for the special entrance The New Day were given on the main card.
Appearing as a trio for the first time since their emotional farewell following the 2020 WWE Draft in October, the trio appeared in full regalia from their appearance in the Gears 5 video game with Big E carrying the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships for his blood brothers.
As for Lars Sullivan, his absence was much less clear as he has been away from WWE television since November 6 when he gave a backstage interview on Friday Night SmackDown.
Both Lars Sullivan and Big E are slated for massive singles pushed on the blue brand, with the latter being groomed for a future WWE Universal Championship Match with Roman Reigns and being the favourite to win the 2021 Royal Rumble Match, while Sullivan is about to be booked as the brand’s own version of Braun Strowman.
