This article contains spoilers for a major debut set for AEW Revolution, read on at your own risk!
It’s become somewhat of an AEW staple for the company to debut a new star during each of their pay-per-views and Revolution reportedly looks to be no different!
In a new report from Fightful Select, Shane Strickland – the former Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott – has now signed with AEW and is set to make his debut “imminently”. Current plans are to have the former NXT North American Champion debut at AEW Revolution though no details were provided on plans for said debut.
On top of this, Strickland was reportedly present at AEW’s live music event tonight and a song that mentioned him several times was played at the show, adding fuel to rumours that the released WWE star will soon become All Elite!
This lines up with a Fightful Select report last week that stated that Strickland was set to sign with the company with his deal coming into effect in the first week of March. It was also reported that the company sees him as a potential crossover star with several other talents said to be considered for WarnerMedia shows over the past year.

It’s unclear if the move will affect any of Strickland’s announced independent bookings, the most major of which is set to see him make his Ring of Honor debut at Supercard of Honor – the company’s first show following a major reboot. There’s also been no word on the announcement since Tony Khan revealed he had purchased Ring of Honor a day later.
During his time in WWE, Shane Strickland captured the NXT North American Championship as part of a successful NXT run. His faction, Hit Row, were called up to SmackDown in the WWE Draft last October but B-Fab was released just weeks later. The rest of the group, including Swerve, were also let go in the following days.
