While main eventing WrestleMania might seem like a daunting task, there was one television segment that made Bianca Belair far more nervous!
Proving her place as the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair is no stranger to executing feats of strength, whether it be winning multiple NXT Combine events or showing off her power in the ring.
However during a January 2021 segment on SmackDown, Belair was faced with perhaps her biggest challenge when Bayley put her through an obstacle course. After flipping a tire, jumping over hurdles, and scaling walls, Bianca Belair was tasked with lifting up Alpha Academy’s Otis for a fireman’s carry.
Speaking to Inside the Ropes’ Kenny McIntosh and Alex McCarthy ahead of Clash at the Castle, Bianca Belair revealed that the prospect of lifting Otis is the most nervous she’s ever been performing in WWE, even more than when she main evented night one of WrestleMania 37 against Sasha Banks!
“I was so nervous. Oh my goodness, I was so nervous for that whole entire obstacle course, more nervous than I would have been for a WrestleMania match. Because it’s live TV, I was jumping hurdles, I’m supposed to be the EST. What if I trip? What do I do now? How do I fix this? I can’t do the EST anymore. I can’t just go away and come back as something new.
“Having to pick up Otis, I’m like, what? Okay, I know I’m the EST, people come to me with ideas all the time like, you can do it. I’m like, you think I can do that? But it was a thing of like, my adrenaline was just pumping. I’m like, I have to do it. I’m the strongest. This is the way that I have to show that I’m the strongest and I’m new and new on the scene and that was fun. But Otis is not a light guy.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Bianca Belair recalled advice she received from John Cena and also named who she’d add to her dream WWE stable.
