Bianca Belair Makes WWE History Yet Again

As EST of WWE, Bianca Belair has proven herself a dominant force. Her Raw Women’s Championship reign continues to make history, and now she’s passed another incredible milestone.

Belair won the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 38, facing Becky Lynch on night one of the blockbuster event. Since then, numerous women have tried to dethrone her; not only has she had rematches against Becky Lynch, but she’s also faced the likes of Alexa Bliss, Carmella, and others, continuing to reign victorious and rack up accolades along the way.

Back in January, Belair became the first Black performer in WWE history – male or female – to hold a world championship for over 300 days. Now, as of March 14th, Belair has held the title for 346 days, making her the longest-reigning Black singles champion in the company.

Her accomplishment comes as she’s surpassed MVP’s United States Championship reign of 342 days. MVP won the title when he defeated Chris Benoit in May of 2007 and held the belt until losing to Matt Hardy in April of 2008.

When EST fan Dannyq1969 pointed out her historic achievement on social media, Bianca Belair responded, noting that she was honored.

“Yes! Shoutout to @The305MVP! I’m so honored!”

MVP also responded on social media, congratulating Belair and wishing for her reign to continue.

“Congratulations your highness! Long may you reign! @BiancaBelairWWE”

Bianca Belair Will Face Asuka At WrestleMania 39

At the Elimination Chamber on February 18, six women went to war to determine the number one contender for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship after Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley made it clear that she was challenging Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

In the end, Asuka emerged victorious when she pinned Carmella, and she and Belair have had a number of on-screen confrontations since that time.

On the most recent episode of WWE Raw, Belair defeated Chelsea Green before being attacked by Green and her new ally Carmella. Asuka made the save for her WrestleMania opponent, but she then picked up the title belt and refused to give it back to Belair for some time, strutting around the ring with it in a sort of advance celebration.

MVP also featured on the latest episode of Raw, accompanying Omos during his confrontation with his WrestleMania opponent Brock Lesnar. Full results from the March 13th episode can be found here.
