Bianca Belair continues to break new ground as one of WWE’s top Superstars. As her Raw Women’s Championship reign hit 200 days the star became the longest-reigning Black World Champion in WWE history.
The former NXT star won the Raw Women’s Championship back on night one of WrestleMania 38 where she defeated her long-time rival Becky Lynch. Belair had lost the SmackDown Championship to Lynch in a matter of seconds at SummerSlam the previous year.
Bianca Belair Makes History
Of course Bianca Belair is no stranger to making history she and Sasha Banks became the first Black women to headline wrestle in the main event of WrestleMania at WrestleMania 37.
While Belair now holds the record as longest-reigning Black World Champion, there have been longer title reigns for Black stars in WWE. MVP held the United States Championship for 343 days, while The Rock was Intercontinental Champion for 265 days back in 1998.
Bianca Belair has now officially held the #WWERAW Women’s Title for 200 days.

Since defeating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania, Belair has defended her title against a number of challengers including Asuka, Sonya Deville, and Lynch on more than one occasion.
The EST’s most recent defence came against Bayley at Extreme Rules. This match also made it’s own small piece of history as it was the first one-on-one Ladder Match on WWE’s main roster between two women.
Bianca Belair signed with WWE in 2016 after attending two try-outs. The star was quickly assigned to NXT where she worked her way up to the top of the women’s division, wrestling the likes of Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler and Rhea Ripley. Despite failing to capture the NXT Women’s Title, Belair moved to the main roster in 2020 and eventually became part of SmackDown.
While with the blue brand Belair won the Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2021 to set up her date with destiny against Sasha Banks at WrestleMania. At the spectacular Belair defeated The Boss to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. She held on to the title until being defeated in shocking fashion by Becky Lynch at SummerSlam.
