Bianca Belair wants to be a benefit to others if she turns heel in the future.
Ever since debuting on the main roster, The EST has been one of the top babyfaces and has been able to defeat some of the biggest stars in the industry on the biggest stages. While Belair does enjoy the cheers and overcoming the odds, the former Women’s Champion does want to revisit being a heel in the future.
Belair was a heel during her time in WWE NXT and was once again one of the top stars of the brand, albeit without championship success. Speaking on The MMA Hour, The EST revealed that being a heel is a lot more fun as actions don’t have to be as justified:
So I love being the good guy, love being a babyface because it puts purpose to what I do and I feel like it has a bigger impact and I’m able to do stuff in the community, it’s just very purposeful, inspirational, impactful. But that being said, when I was a heel in NXT, it was so much fun… I feel like being a heel is a lot easier. It’s a lot easier to get people to not like you than to get people to like you and keep liking you and keeping it fresh.
When you’re a babyface, in order for me to have the attitude and come back, I have to have somebody who provokes me. They have to bring it out of me, so I need that good heel like a Bayley, who brings it out of me. Otherwise, I just end up looking like a heel but, a heel, it’s a lot of fun. You’re not in a box, you can kind of do whatever you wanna do and I do feel like I have more attitude. But, at the same time, in NXT, I feel like I was a heel.
When describing her ideal scenario as a heel, Belair commented that she would take inspiration from her rivalry with Bayley as the work of The Damage CTRL member was integral in helping Belair get over as a babyface:
But if I ever turned heel now, I wanna be the right type of heel. I feel like I was the cool heel in NXT which I feel like it didn’t really benefit anyone but myself. I got myself over and if I’m in there with a babyface that’s not as established, it’s very hard for them. I learned when I got to the main roster how great it is to work with an amazing heel like Bayley when I first came in.
The reason why I think that I hit the ground running as a good guy when I came in was I had this amazing heel who, she was an established — very over and she helped me, helped introduce me to the audience and helped people get to know me and care about me. That’s what I wanna do if I ever turn heel so I won’t be the heel that you like and cheer for.
Bianca Belair Hits Impressive WWE Milestone
With a main event victory at WrestleMania, a Royal Rumble victory and multiple championship reigns, Belair has established herself as one of the top stars of the main roster and is no doubt destined for more championship success in the future. In the lead-up to WrestleMania, Bianca Belair would check another achievement off the list as she would join Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley as WWE 2K24 cover stars.
