WWE Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix has heaped praise on rival Rhea Ripley following their first in-ring meeting at Elimination Chamber this weekend.

Beth Phoenix labels Rhea Ripley as ‘the real deal’

The former WWE Women’s Champion has spent recent months joining forces with husband Edge to battle The Judgment Day faction, a heated rivalry that came to a head this past Saturday night at Elimination Chamber where the duo saw off the competition of Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley.

Ripley was victorious in the Women’s Royal Rumble in January to seal her place at Wrestlemania 39 this April, and rival Phoenix has taken to Twitter to praise the Australian-born Superstar ahead of her huge match against Charlotte Flair for Smackdown Women’s Championship in Los Angeles.

@RheaRipley_WWE is the real deal. Now. Go get that gold. #WrestleMania39

Phoenix entered the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2017 in the same year that Ripley made her WWE bow in the Mae Young Classic, defeating Miranda Salinas in the first round before tasting defeat against Dakota Kai.

Ripley returned with a more aggressive attitude for the 2018 Mae Young Classic and would go on to make the semi-finals, losing out to Io Shirai in a event that saw Beth Phoenix as a co-commentator.

The pair wouldn’t cross paths again until Extreme Rules in October 2022, with Ripley, now a member of the Judgment Day, launching a brutal attack on ‘The Glamazon’ as she helped Finn Balor to victory in an ‘I Quit’ match over Phoenix’s husband, WWE Hall Of Famer Edge.

Phoenix would return at the Royal Rumble 2023 event, attacking Ripley as the Judgment Day battled in the aisle with Edge following his Royal Rumble match elimination, setting up the tag team encounter at Elimination Chamber.

It would appear now that the feud is at an end, however, with Phoenix encouraging the former Raw Women’s Champion ahead of April’s Wrestlemania clash with Charlotte Flair.
